Creating a Smish

The process for creating Smish starts with the design. David and Shanna create the Smish designs using their fun and joyous imaginations. They brings the joy of life and add some personality into each creation. Sketching and designing new Smish is fun for them because they see Smish, like people all different and colorful.

The designs are then reproduced in Stained Glass. Each piece of glass is hand cut, ground, cleaned and assembled to make the base design. Then Shanna decorates each Smish by hand to add color and accents to complete a unique look.

All the Smish are assembled on a kiln shelf’s in layers, carefully set in the kiln and fired under strict electronic control. The glass is melted to over 1400 degrees and cooled at a controlled rate. When the kiln is cool, out come the beautiful Smish.
